GPS Unit Configuration

Before generating a map make sure your GPS unit is connected to your PC and set to USB Mass Storage mode.

If your Garmin device has USB mass storage mode enabled by default, such as the Colorado series, then you can directly transfer the maps to the connected Garmin device. If your device requires the USB mass storage mode to be activated manually (GPSMap, eTrex), then you have to complete the following steps (screen layout may differ from the ones shown).

View a list of supported devices 

1. Go to the Setup menu

2. Go to the Interface menu

3. Select USB mass storage

Note that your GPS unit may stop using this mode when you turn it off.
